A team of ethical coffee professionals; Caleb Heaney, formerly of Small Batch Roasters and Seven Seeds and Rebecca Notley (interior designer), put considerable commitment into sourcing the world’s best coffee beans – ethically sourced and traced.

Craftwork’s passion for roasting and artisan brewing, required a crafted brand & identity solution, one that aligned with their core values; boutique, urbane, curated and respectful. Design by Bird has created bespoke branding & packaging that reflect their business values & positioning across all key brand touch-points; internal & external print, packaging & digital collateral.

Inspired by the texture of a single coffee bean, Design by Bird conceptually honoured the imperfections of its beauty, the idiosyncratic rocky terrain – tactile, layered and bold, paying homage to the coffee bean at a micro-level.

Portraying Craftwork’s ‘ethically and boutique crafted’ positioning, the identity couples a simplistic logotype with the textural component of the bean, celebrating the origin of the bean with a geometric interpretation of their national flag. The warm, muted palette allows the tinted texture and geometric shapes to clearly articulate the brand’s artisan craft, respectfully honouring each brew and unique origin.
